A Small Mountain that Watches Over Samani Town

様似町を見守る小さな山

Kannon-yama stands imposingly on the coastline, watching over the rocks that seem to float on the Pacific Ocean, Sobira-iwa and Oyako-iwa.

太平洋に浮かぶソビラ岩や親子岩を見守るように、海岸線にどっしりと腰を下ろす観音山。

A view of Samani Port can be seen from the observatory built on the mountain at an altitude of approximately 100m.

この標高100mほどの山につくられた展望台からは、様似の港の風景を臨むことができます。

Mt. Apoi stands tall to the east. On fine days, you can see as far as Cape Erimo in the distance.

東にそびえるアポイ岳、天気が良ければ、その向こうに襟裳岬を遠く見渡すことができる日も。

Furthermore, in spring the mountainside is covered in a sea of beautiful flowers, including Corydalis fumariifolia, dainty pink dogtooth violets, and Trillium camschatcense with large white blooms.

また、春には山一面に咲くエゾエンゴサクやピンク色が可憐なカタクリ、白く大きな花をつけるオオバナノエンレイソウと、美しい花々が咲き誇ります。
